designachiever.jpgMichael Craig, a 22-year-old interior design student of the Design School of Southern Africa, based in Pretoria, won this year’s SABS Design Institute Design Achievers award. Michael developed the Dry-Pod, a compact shelter to protect homeless people from adverse weather and other conditions.

The Design Achievers award ceremony was held at Maropeng on Africa Day, 25 May. A total of 18 students from various design disciplines took part in this year’s Design Achievers Award scheme.
