Membership of DEFSA

Institutional membership of DEFSA is open to any educational or training institution which is HEQC accredited and registered.

Individual membership is open to educational practitioners and any person with an interest in design education.

Annual General Meeting

The 2006 DEFSA AGM was held on Thursday, 21 September 2006 at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in Port Elizabeth.../more

The 2007 DEFSA AGM will be held on the final day of the annual conference from 3-5 October 2007 in Cape Town. The conference is hosted by Cape Peninsula University of Technology and the SABS Design Institute.

Fees 2006

Defsa fees, which have remained unchanged since 1992, have been revised in the light of the changing landscape of education in general and higher education in particular. The CHE/HEQC accreditation process highlights the importance of DEFSA as a professional body in this regard.

The fees are as follows

• Individual membership R100 per year
• Institutional/Corporate R2 000 per year

The fees are payable by transfer into the DEFSA account as per the banking details below or by cheque made out to DEFSA and posted to the Secretariat.

A certificate of membership for the period in question will be issued to members.
