Khanya Mthethwa is an award-winning jewellery designer, born in KwaZulu-Natal and currently working at the University of Johannesburg (UJ). Some of her foremost achievements include certificates in Rough Diamond Evaluation and Diamond-cutting, and a Master’s of Art in the fields of Design.
Mthethwa is currently a PhD candidate in UJ’s Department of Visual Art, majoring in Art History. She is also the founder and CEO of Changing Facets – a company specialising in contemporary, wearable art jewellery inspired by indigenous African cultures.
Mthethwa is the driving force behind the South African Jewellery Week - the first platform of its kind in the country.
